How to Choose Hardware for Glass Railings

On an interior glass railing, the hardware, panel alignment, and mounting details define the finished look. The right specifications make the installation feel intentional rather than added on.

Where interior railings fall short

Generic hardware, loose layout tolerances, and poor alignment can make an otherwise beautiful glass railing feel unfinished. The details matter because every joint and edge stays visible.

Choosing the right hardware and panel layout at the start costs less than correcting a poorly planned railing system later.

Frameless or post-mounted

Frameless systems use thicker glass and structural base fixings to stay upright with no visible posts, which is why they cost more. Post-mounted systems achieve a similar open view with more visible structure at a lower price. Both can meet local safety requirements when built for the specific installation.

Keeping a railing looking new

A squeegee or non-abrasive glass cleaner handles the panels, while routine hardware checks keep the system feeling solid. It is a small amount of maintenance for something that stays in full view.
